Welcome to the "Home of" the Garner Road Basketball Club. We would like to welcome all of you to the Garner Road Basketball Club, where the winning tradition continues and the maturing of our boys and girls grow each year. We currently have student athletes attending over fifty-one Div 1, Div 2, Div 3, as well as Junior and Community Colleges. We are very proud to serve the community and we are looking forward to all of you joining our family. You don't have to be a basketball player, you can be a basketball supporter. Workouts for boys and girls will begin on Tuesday Sept 7, 2010 for ages 8-13 at 6pm at the Garner Road YMCA, (2245 Garner Road, Raleigh NC 27610). These workouts are FREE and VERY STRUCTURAL and will continue until November. In November we will have AAU
tryouts
for the 8u
- 12u teams.

Coach moves to College The Garner Road Basketball Club is proud to announce Coach Monty Sanders has been recently hired as the Director of Basketball Operations at Elon University. Coach Sanders had an outstanding year for the GRBC. Executive Director, Dwayne West said "It is good to see that the program not only benefits the Boys and Girls with a dream to play College ball but also its Coaches. Monty was an outstanding Garner Road player and Coach. We will definitely support him in his coaching endeavors at the college level." first-ever, comprehensive pre-season “Top AAU Basketball Club Power
Rankings”. These listings
boast the best Division I and Division II Clubs in the country!

were one of a couple Clubs that had more than 2 teams listed from 9U
through 17U. Here are the

#18 5 nationally ranked teams in one organization is outstanding and truly shows the strength of the total club. Garner Road had 20 Boys teams and 25% of them were national powers. That’s a great job to all. Also
for the second consecutive year in a row, Garner Road acquired the most placement points in the
State of North Carolina Boys’ AAU basketball.

Coaches Needed for the 2010 Season: We are looking for dedicated coaches, men and women to join our organization to coach boys and girls basketball. We are growing each year and there is a need for more coaches. Individuals applying for these positions must past a criminal background check and have references. There will be interviews conducted and you may be required to complete a basic basketball quiz. If you are interested, please contact Dwayne West or Byron Solomon. |
